Sometimes exercise and a healthy diet can only take you so far towards your ideal body. Perhaps aging, sun damage, pregnancy, genetic make-up, or fluctuations in weight have left you with an undesirable look. Whatever the case may be, if you still have loose, sagging skin and uneven contours after hitting your goal weight, a lower body lift or arm lift may be right for you.

Lower Body Lift

A lower body lift can improve the shape and tone of the underlying tissue that supports the fat and skin. Excess sagging fat and skin are removed and dimpled, uneven skin can be improved. Areas that respond well to body lifts include:

  • Abdominal area, locally or extending around the sides and into the lower back area
  • Buttocks, that may be low, flat or shaped unevenly
  • Groin that may sag into the inner thigh
  • Thigh, including the inner, outer or posterior thigh, or circumferentially

You should know that body lifts are not intended strictly for the removal of excess fat. Liposuction can achieve fat removal where skin has good elasticity. In some cases liposuction is used in conjunction with a body lift to obtain your desired look. If weight loss is your plan right now visit The Bariatric Center of KC.

Butt & Thigh Lift

This surgery reshapes the thighs, both inner and outer, by reducing excess skin and sometimes fat, resulting in smoother skin and better-proportioned contours of the thighs and lower body. At your thigh lift consult you will discuss with your doctor the factors that may affect your results such as gaining or losing a significant amount of weight, the size and shape of your thighs, and the quality of your skin.  As part of the thigh lift consult your thighs will be evaluated, measured, and photographed for your medical records. Options and a recommended course of treatment along with the outcome and risks will also be discussed. Your personal desires are key in the decision-making process.

Arm Lift

An arm lift, or Brachioplasty, reshapes the upper arm along the under portion from the underarm to the elbow. Fluctuations in weight, aging, or heredity can cause your upper arm to sag and droop. While exercise may strengthen and improve muscle tone, it cannot address excess skin that is no longer elastic or contains localized fat pockets. An arm lift can address these problems:

  • Reduce excess sagging skin that droops down
  • Tighten and smooth underlying tissue that defines the shape
  • Reduce localized fat pockets in the upper arm

At your arm lift consult you will discuss with your doctor the factors that may affect your results such as gaining or losing a significant amount of weight, the size and shape of your arms, and the quality of your skin.
